How counselling helps

Counselling gives you time that is just yours, with a qualified person who listens without judging. You do not need to be in crisis to start. Many people come when life feels heavy, when something has changed, or when they simply want to understand themselves better.

What it can offer

  • Space to say things out loud that you may not have said to anyone
  • Someone who listens fully and keeps what you share confidential
  • Help to make sense of difficult feelings and situations
  • Support at a pace that feels manageable to you

How we work

At Aura we work in an integrative, person centred way. You are at the centre of the work. Where it helps, we draw on techniques from other types of counselling, so your sessions fit you rather than one fixed method.

What people bring

Anxiety, stress, grief and bereavement, low mood, trauma, and the everyday pressures of work and relationships. You are welcome to bring whatever is on your mind.

What to expect

  1. 1Get in touch by phone, email or the enquiry form. We usually reply within two working days.
  2. 2Have a free phone conversation of about 15 minutes, with no commitment.
  3. 3If you would like to go ahead, sessions are 50 minutes: £45 in person or £35 by telephone.
  4. 4We ask for 48 hours' notice to cancel or move a session. If less notice is given, the full session fee is charged.

Every Aura counsellor is BACP registered, works to its Ethical Framework and is supervised monthly.
